Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) rollout in Europe is expanding again, with Estonia becoming the latest country to approve the advanced driver-assistance system.
Tesla announced the news on Friday through its Europe, Middle East and Africa account on X, saying that FSD (Supervised) has now been approved in Estonia and that customer rollouts will begin soon.
Estonia’s transport authority cleared Tesla’s system for use on public roads after recognizing the same provisional type approval that was first granted by Dutch regulators earlier this year.
The approval comes just one week after Tesla began rolling out FSD in Lithuania.
Estonia Follows the Dutch Approval Path
Like Lithuania and several other European countries now evaluating Tesla’s software, Estonia relied on the provisional approval issued by the Dutch vehicle authority RDW.
The Netherlands became the first European Union country to approve FSD after more than a year of testing and validation. That decision created a pathway for other EU member states to recognize the approval under existing European regulations rather than requiring Tesla to restart the process from scratch in each country.
Baltic Countries Quickly Embrace Tesla FSD
The approval is particularly notable because Estonia now joins neighbouring Lithuania in embracing Tesla’s technology. Earlier this month, Lithuania became the second European country to activate FSD (Supervised), with officials describing the technology as a way to improve comfort and safety while maintaining driver responsibility.
Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia have also signed agreements to strengthen cooperation on autonomous transportation development, suggesting further coordination across the Baltic region could follow.
With Estonia’s approval, Tesla’s momentum in Europe continues to build. Belgium has already authorized public-road testing, which should be completing soon, while Ireland has confirmed discussions with Tesla and regulators, and several other countries are exploring ways to fast-track approvals using the Dutch framework.
