Lithuania has become the second European country to approve Tesla’s FSD (Supervised), with the company already deploying the software to owners in the country.
The expansion comes just over one month after the Netherlands became the first country in the European Union to approve the advanced driver-assistance system.
Tesla confirmed the rollout on Tuesday through its Europe and Middle East account on X, saying FSD is now being deployed to Tesla owners in Lithuania. The company added that it is “making European roads safer, one by one.”
The announcement follows a decision by Lithuania’s Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration (LTSA) to recognize the provisional EU type approval previously granted by Dutch regulators.

Lithuania Fast-Tracks Tesla FSD Approval
In announcing the decision, Lithuanian officials said the country is entering “a new stage” where vehicles capable of handling some driving tasks can now legally operate on public roads.
“Lithuania is among the first in Europe where cars can now drive themselves. These technologies can already make a real contribution to safer and more comfortable driving, especially on longer journeys or in monotonous traffic,” said Minister of Transport and Communications Juras Taminskas.
Lithuania’s approval relies heavily on the testing and validation already completed in the Netherlands. Under EU regulations, member states can recognize provisional approvals granted by other EU countries for emerging transport technologies, allowing the process to move much faster than traditional homologation pathways.
According to the ministry, Lithuania hopes to position itself among Europe’s leaders in advanced vehicle technology by creating a regulatory framework that supports innovation while maintaining clear driver responsibility requirements.
Europe’s FSD Rollout Is Expanding Quickly
Tesla’s European FSD rollout has gained significant momentum over the past month. After years of delays tied to Europe’s stricter regulatory environment, the Netherlands became the first EU country to approve FSD following more than a year of testing with the Dutch RDW.
Since then, Belgium has approved Tesla to begin supervised road testing, Ireland has confirmed discussions with Tesla regarding approval, and Sweden has expanded its testing efforts.
Tesla also recently revealed that its Dutch FSD fleet surpassed 10 million kilometres driven in under a month, giving regulators across Europe an increasingly large real-world dataset to evaluate.
With Lithuania now officially joining the Netherlands, FSD (Supervised) is currently available in 10 countries worldwide.
