Tesla Supercharger in south Surrey now open [British Columbia]

There are now four Supercharger stations in Surrey after a new station opened in south Surrey over the weekend. That number however will soon jump to five.

The latest Supercharger to open in the city just outside of Vancouver is located in the Real Canadian Superstore parking lot at 2332 160 St. Construction of the 12 stall Supercharger began back in March, and the equipment was installed within a couple of months. As it always does it took a little longer for it to be energized, which happened last week.

According to the mobile app the V3 Supercharger rates range from $0.20 per minute at slower speeds, up to $1.00 per minute for 180-250kW peak charging speeds.

While this is the fourth Supercharger in Surrey, there will soon be five. Around the same time Tesla started construction of this station, they also began work on another in central Surrey, also in the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore at 7588 King George Blvd. That site has also been sitting idle for several months waiting for activation, but that should happen this week now with south Surrey just being turned on.

Tesla also last week turned on the first V3 Supercharger on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo. Another should also open very soon in Port Alberni, doubling the total number of Superchargers on Vancouver Island to four.
