Saskatoon Tesla Supercharger now open [Saskatchewan]

Saskatchewan Tesla owners finally have their first new Supercharger station in nearly two years after the Saskatoon Supercharger opened last night.

The last new Supercharger in Saskatchewan opened in Moose Jaw in December 2019.

Construction of the Saskatoon Supercharger began in early August, and late on Monday night the power was finally turned on.

The first report of the Supercharger being open didn’t come from a Tesla owner, but rather a Chevy Bolt EV owner who plugged into one of the two FLO DC fast chargers also built at the station.

As part of the funding received from Natural Resources Canada, 25% of the chargers at the site had to be universal.

The Supercharger was later confirmed to be open by the Tesla Owners Club of Saskatchewan, who shared these photos with Drive Tesla.

More locations in Saskatchewan are expected to see construction start soon in North Battleford, Lloydminster, and Vegreville.

Once those stations are complete Tesla owners will be able to easily travel between Saskatoon and Edmonton along the Yellowhead Hwy (Hwy 16).
