Giga Nevada starts limited production of the Tesla Semi

Tesla has already announced that volume production of the Semi has been delayed to 2023.

Despite the announcement, Tesla has reportedly started limited production of the electric Semi at Giga Nevada, with the first units likely to be delivered to Pepsi for a customer test program.

During a drone flyover at the factory on Friday afternoon, a brand new white Tesla Semi was spotted performing some high speed runs behind the factory.

Although we have seen photos and videos of a white Semi at Giga Nevada in recent weeks, this one was different in that it had no DOT stickers or manufacturer’s plates.

The footage was provided to Tesla enthusiast Sawyer Merritt, who was able to corroborate the information with a second independent source.

This news also backs up statements made by PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta last month. In an interview on CNBC he announced his company was still planning to receive their first deliveries of the Semi from Tesla “this Q4.”

Lending credence to the statement was the addition of their very own Semi Megacharger, which started construction earlier this month.
