Volvo is making it even easier for its EV owners in Europe to plug in and charge by officially joining Tesla’s expansive Supercharger network.
Starting in the fourth quarter of 2026, drivers of Volvo’s electric lineup will gain access to more than 20,000 Tesla Superchargers across 29 European countries through the Volvo Cars app.
Volvo says owners of the EX30, EX40, EC40, EX60, EX90, and ES90 will be able to locate Tesla Superchargers, initiate charging sessions, and handle payments directly through the Volvo Cars app.
The integration eliminates the need for a separate Tesla account or app, streamlining the experience into a single ecosystem.
Volvo noted the network spans 29 countries, but the Supercharger expansion will primarily benefit drivers in major EV markets including Germany, France, Norway, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Spain, although the agreement covers nearly all of Europe.
Along with Supercharger support in Europe, Volvo is also aligning more closely with Tesla’s charging standard outside the region. The company confirmed that select models in Japan and South Korea will transition to Tesla’s North American Charging System (NACS), also known as SAE J3400, by 2029.
That change will provide Volvo owners in those markets direct access to Tesla’s Supercharger network without the use of an adapter.
The automaker has already embraced NACS in North America. Volvo’s upcoming EX60 is its first vehicle built with a native NACS port, allowing direct Supercharger access without an adapter.
