Tesla Service Center in Superior, Colorado damaged by worst wildfire in state history

Colorado suffered through the most destructive wildfire in state history on Thursday, with more than 1,000 homes damaged or destroyed in Boulder county

The fast moving fire also tore through commercial and industrial areas, including the Superior Tesla Service Center on South Marshall Road.

Footage of the fire, shared to Twitter by Brian Smith, showed the rear of the building engulfed by flames.

The good news is that the building was able to be saved. According to a preliminary list released by authorities, the Boulder Tesla Service Center is listed as damaged and not destroyed.

After the fire was extinguished, aerial footage showed the front of the Service Center suffered extensive damage and will have to be completely rebuilt.

The footage also shows the on-site 16 stall Supercharger, but given the distance it is not possible to determine if they made it through the fire unscathed.

Tesla has temporarily closed the location, which will still require significant repairs before it can reopen. Tesla has not yet provided a timeline on when this might happen.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
