Tesla no longer shortens delivery wait times if you add FSD Capability

Earlier this month Tesla updated their online Design Studio so that if you added Full Self-Driving Capability to your order, your delivery wait time could be shortened by as many as seven months.

This led to some customers abusing the system by adding it to get their car quicker, with the plan to remove it before delivery.

Tesla caught on to this and updated the website again this week to add wording that removing the option could delay your delivery.

Tesla has now gone one step further and reverted back to their original coding.

As you can see from the screenshot above, Tesla has also updated their delivery estimates to now indicate a range of months, rather than a single month.

This is likely due to the fact that the extreme demand Tesla is seeing for their vehicles right now makes it difficult to predict with such certainty that it will happen within a 30 day window.
