Tesla Edmonton begins to take shape as official opening nears

Last year Drive Tesla was first to report on Tesla’s expansion in Alberta when it took possession of the former Ericksen Infiniti dealership in West Edmonton.

Now three months later work has finally begun at the location indicating an opening should be happening very soon. In photos taken by one of our readers Dave Schultz, signage has been installed on the front of the building, showing all the other dealerships that surround it who the new kid on the block is.

Crews have also installed several Destination Chargers at the back of the building to charge up new cars waiting for delivery and those that are in for service.

Furniture has also arrived with Tesla’s signature red and white desk visible inside the building.

Based on information received by Drive Tesla the hiring of key personnel for positions like Sales Manager has already concluded. Given that work has already begun, an opening could happen as soon as this month.

Owners in the area are excited for the opening. Braving temperatures hovering around -19°C (-2°F), as many as 25 owners visited the location last month for a preemptive celebration.

This will be just one of many new Tesla locations opening in Canada this year. Two locations in British Columbia opened within one month in Surrey and Richmond. Saskatoon also welcomed their first Tesla location in January, and more are expected on Vancouver Island, Winnipeg, and Nova Scotia.
