Tesla is already asking Cybercab passengers what they would change about the purpose-built Robotaxi, and some of the questions suggest the company is considering several notable hardware upgrades.
The Cybercab rider survey was sent out to some early riders this week, just days after the two-seat autonomous vehicle entered commercial service in Austin. As is typical with surveys like this, Tesla asks passengers to rate their overall experience on a five-star scale on things such as availability and wait time, door functionality, the vehicle touchscreen, mobile app experience, seat comfort, interior space, ride comfort, cleanliness and cargo space.

However, the most interesting part comes when Tesla asks riders which features they would “most like to have in Cybercab.”
The list includes heated seats, ventilated seats, fully reclining seats, a tray table, wireless phone charging, an upgraded sound system and additional storage. Riders can select up to three options, or select “Other” and submit their own suggestion.
Of course, a survey doesn’t mean any of these features are guaranteed to make it into production. However, the fact that Tesla is specifically asking about them suggests the company is at least looking at ways to improve the Cybercab as it gathers real-world feedback from its first passengers.
Some potential changes could address early complaints. Cybercab riders have already pointed out the lack of a dedicated place to put a phone, something that becomes more noticeable when the Robotaxi app play such a central role in their trip.
Other riders have suggested software changes, including a full-screen navigation map, destination editing through the Cybercab touchscreen, manual control over air recirculation, and more.
One thing I noticed in Cybercab is that there is no good place to put your phone.

There's a lot of interactions happening with the app such as changing music or editing your destination, so you want to have it easily accessible and not just in your pocket.
