Tesla has closed one of the last remaining feature gaps between its iPhone and Android apps, with Android users beginning to receive live Supercharging updates directly on their lock screens.
The feature, first spotted by Rhys Samson, is included in version 4.58.0 of the Tesla mobile app, even though Tesla did not mention it in official release notes.
For Android users, the update removes the need to repeatedly unlock their phone and open the Tesla app to check charging progress. Instead, a persistent notification remains visible on the lock screen or in the notification shade, updating in real time as the vehicle charges.

The feature mirrors Tesla’s Live Activities implementation on iPhone, which arrived with Tesla app version 4.45.0 in 2025. The live notification displays nearly every piece of information a driver would want during a charging stop, including current state of charge, charging speed in kilowatts, estimated time remaining, total energy delivered, charging costs, and the amount of range being added per hour.
The result is essentially a miniature charging dashboard that follows users throughout their charging session without requiring any interaction with the app itself.
For Android owners, this particular addition has been more than a year in the making. However, not every Android owner will see the feature immediately. While the required code appears to be included in Tesla app version 4.58.0, the functionality is reportedly being activated through Tesla’s servers, meaning some users may have access while others running the exact same app version do not.
The feature also appears to depend on Android’s newer Live Updates framework, which was introduced as part of Android 16. Owners running older versions of the operating system may not be able to use the feature even after Tesla completes the rollout.
