SpaceX has introduced its lowest advertised price yet for Starlink in the United States, dropping monthly service to just $29 in a new limited-time promotion.
However, like previous deals, there’s a catch—the reduced pricing is only available for the first three months of a Residential subscription, after which rates return to standard levels.
Under the new U.S. promotion, the entry-level Residential 100 Mbps plan is now priced at $29 per month, down from its usual $50. The mid-tier Residential 200 Mbps plan drops to $59 per month from $80, while the top-tier Residential Max plan—offering speeds up to 400+ Mbps—is available for $99 per month, reduced from $120.
In addition to the lower monthly pricing, Starlink is also eliminating upfront hardware costs in select areas by offering the required dish as a free rental, further lowering the cost of trying the service. That combination of discounted service and reduced startup costs appears designed to appeal to customers who may have been hesitant to make the switch.
Despite the attention-grabbing $29 price point, the actual savings are more modest over time. With the discount lasting only three months, customers save a total of $63 on the base plan before pricing reverts. Still, the short-term pricing may be enough to entice users to test Starlink’s performance, particularly in areas where traditional broadband options are limited or unreliable.
There are also some geographic limitations. The lower-tier 100 Mbps and 200 Mbps plans are primarily available in regions where Starlink has excess network capacity. In more congested markets, customers may only have access to the higher-end Residential Max plan—and in some cases, may still face additional upfront costs, including hardware fees and demand surcharges.
Meanwhile, Canadian customers aren’t being left out—but the deals aren’t quite as steep. Starlink’s current promotion north of the border still starts at $49 per month for the Residential 100 Mbps plan, down from $70, with the discount lasting for a slightly longer four-month period in select areas.
Higher tiers in Canada are also discounted, with pricing at $89 and $119 per month for the 200 Mbps and Max plans, respectively.
