The classic station wagon has taken yet another hit as Porsche announced it will end production of the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo after the 2026 model year.
The move comes as slowing sales and a demand for SUVs continue to dominate the North American vehicle landscape.
A Porsche spokesperson said this to Car and Driver when asked about the decision:
Porsche focuses its product portfolio on the wishes of its customers, and in the United States, the Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo body styles of the Taycan played a minor role. It is for this reason that we have decided to discontinue these model variants.
The Taycan has seen sales continue to decline since its peak in 2021, when Porsche sold 9,419 units in the United States. Given that over 4,124 units were sold in 2025, it could be safe to assume that the station wagon body style accounted for only a small percentage of those sales.
However, Porsche does not provide detailed sales numbers, such as by body types or trim levels.
Porsche did confirm the rest of the Taycan Variants will continue to be produced. They just announced that the 2027 Taycan sedan will receive a series of upgrades. These upgrades include a new 97-kWh battery, NACS charger and a simulated shifting mode that mirrors an eight-speed gearbox, with a virtual rev limiter and paddle shifters.
