Nikola names Michael Lohscheller President

After a year of turmoil, Nikola Corporation announced on Tuesday Michael Lohscheller as the new President of Nikola Motors.

Lohscheller is an accomplished automotive executive with experience with some of the largest automotive brands in the world.

Lohscheller was previously Chief Executive Officer of VinFast, a Vietnam-based EV brand.

As well, previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of Opel. He led Opel’s transformation under General Motors and then later Stellantis.

He also was previously Volkswagen Group of America Executive Vice President, among other leadership roles at VW.

His principal responsibility will be to scale Nikola’s global truck business and smoothly transition the company into global production.

Lohscheller will report to Chief Executive Officer Mark Russell.

Nikola delivered their first Nikola Tre battery-electric trucks back in December. The achievement was great news considering the issues around the former founder and his fraud charges.

At least to say, Lohscheller is a veteran of the auto industry and seems to be a solid choice to lead Nikola into the future.
