Mahindra teases five new EVs, with an unveiling in 16 days

India’s largest SUV manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra, has been teasing their “Born Electric” campaign for some time, but it looks like all will come to a head in 16 days.

The company dropped their biggest teaser yet and unveiled the silhouettes of five electric vehicles ahead of its global debut.

Not much is known about the vehicles in terms of specs.

However, we know the company plans to release two SUV coupes, a compact SUV, a crossover and one potential truck, or truck-inspired SUV.

In terms of features, each vehicle looks to have:

  • C-shaped taillights and headlights
  • Dual-screen panel for infotainment and driver display
  • Panoramic glass top
  • Ambient lighting throughout the cabin

We saw these interior features during the earlier drop in March, and the vehicles will borrow many of the same looks from the Mahindra XUV700.

That debut will take place on August 15 at the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe facility in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.

It will be interesting to see if Mahindra decides to break into the SUV-crazed North American market with these vehicles.

The company already has a presence in the market with their UTV, the Mahindra Roxor, which is an off-road version of their popular Mahindra Thar SUV.

However, the Roxor is not highway certified in the United States or Canada.
