Lucid has lost another key member of its leadership team, with longtime executive Emad Dlala departing the company just months after being promoted to oversee all engineering and digital operations.
The departure was confirmed by Lucid on Wednesday, and marks the first major executive exit since Silvio Napoli officially took over as the company’s new CEO earlier this month.
Napoli, who was appointed in April after a lengthy CEO search, appears to be moving quickly to reshape Lucid’s organizational structure as the automaker prepares for one of the most important periods in its history.
In a statement to TechCrunch, which first reported on the exit, Lucid said Dlala had chosen to leave the company and that the EV manufacturer is making broader changes to improve execution and speed up innovation.
“Emad Dlala has elected to leave the company to pursue other opportunities. We thank Emad for his many contributions over the years and wish him continued success in his future endeavors. Lucid remains focused on streamlining our organization and processes to fully leverage the strength of our team and will communicate further actions soon.”
One of Lucid’s Longest-Serving Leaders
Dlala was among Lucid’s most experienced executives, having spent more than a decade with the company. During that time, he played a key role in developing the automaker’s electric powertrain technology and eventually rose to become Senior Vice President of Powertrain.
His responsibilities expanded significantly in November 2025 when Lucid promoted him to oversee all Engineering and Digital operations. The move came at the same time the company parted ways with longtime Chief Engineer Eric Bach, who later filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against Lucid.
Dlala’s exit means another senior leader from Lucid’s earlier growth years is leaving the company, continuing a period of significant executive turnover that has seen multiple high-ranking departures over the last several years.
Napoli Moves to Flatten Management Structure
As part of the latest restructuring, Lucid said Vice President of Vehicle Engineering Vivek Attaluri and Vice President of Software Marc Solsona Palomar will now report directly to CEO Silvio Napoli.
The move suggests Napoli is reducing layers of management and taking a more hands-on role in overseeing vehicle development, engineering, and software execution.
The restructuring follows several difficult months for Lucid. Earlier this year, the company laid off approximately 12% of its workforce as part of broader cost-cutting efforts while continuing its search for a permanent replacement for former CEO Peter Rawlinson, who stepped down in early 2025.
