Ford has reopened orders for the Ford F-150 Lightning to existing reservation holders, but there is a bit of a catch.

With this opening up of orders, Ford has also increased the price of the F-150 Lightning between $6,000 and $8,500, depending on the trim.

The Lariat Extended Range and Range trims get the highest increase of $8,500.

Below are the new prices for the eight trims.

With these increases also come new options and features.

First and foremost, Ford’s new models will have an estimated EPA range of 240 miles, an increase of 10 miles from the previous generation. Nothing is different mechanically, but the standard heated seats increased the range.

Secondly, the next generation F-150 Lightning will have two new colours, Avalanche Grey and Azura Grey. These colours are replacing the Atlas Blue, Ice Blue Silver and Smoked Quartz Metallic, which will be no longer available.

Third, all F-150 Lightning’s will come with Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. This feature allows the struck to have automatic steering, throttle and brake inputs to make hitching a trailer a breeze.

Finally, the new models will make the Ford Pro Special Service Vehicle Package available for Ford fleet customers. This package includes built-in steel intrusion plates, roof-mounted LED warning beacons and heavy-duty cloth seats.

Ford confirmed that the price adjustments do not impact customers who have already ordered their truck and are awaiting delivery.
