Time has named Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk as their Person of the Year for 2021.
The Time Person of the Year is a marker of influence, and Elon Musk certainly hits that definition.

The magazine noted that Musk “emerged not just as the world’s richest person but also as perhaps the riches example of a massive shift in our society”.

Recently, Musk interacted with the Wall Street Journal on various issues. He remarked that one of the most significant risks to civilization is that humans are not having more babies. He also linked climate change to the fertility rate in the US.
Love him or hate him, Musk certainly is a marker of influence that shaped the previous 12 months for better or worse.
