Elon Musk donates $30 million to Boca Chica area

Elon Musk announced a $30 million donation on Twitter to the areas around the Boca Chica SpaceX launch site. $20 million will go to Cameron County schools, and $10 million will go to Brownsville. Brownsville has to use the money for downtown revitalization as per the tweet.

Further to these donations, Musk has invested in the community around Boca Chica.

Musk hopes to partner with Magic Valley Energy to increase solar power output from 1MW to 10MWs. Tesla will use their battery packs to provide 24/7 power to the community.

In addition, Musk wants to incorporate the village of Boca Chica and the Starship production complex to create Starbase, Texas. The incorporated town would be powered by solar power and provide Musk’s production facility much needed municipal services.

Thinking ahead, Musk even noted he might install a Boring loop between Starbase-South Padre Island and the Brownsville International Airport.

Things are moving in southern Texas, and we cannot wait to see what comes next!
