Tesla has added another simple storage solution for Model Y owners in its online shop, launching a new Underseat Storage Tray. Like most of the company’s new product launches, it sold out soon after its debut.
Priced at C$55 in Canada and US$40 in the United States, the new accessory is unfortunately only for the Model Y produced in 2025+, but not the Model Y L, meaning owners of earlier Model Ys are out of luck. Tesla specifically recommends against installing the tray underneath the driver’s seat.
Instead, the Model Y Underseat Storage Tray slides underneath the front passenger seat, providing a concealed spot for smaller items that owners may not want rolling around the cabin.
According to Tesla, the tray is “Designed to fit securely under the front passenger seat. Helps keep your belongings organized and concealed. Made from injection molded thermoplastic, it features a non-slip design that keeps items from rolling, so what’s under the seat stays under the seat.”

Despite only just appearing in Tesla’s online shop, demand quickly outpaced supply. The Underseat Storage Tray is currently listed as out of stock in both Canada and the United States, with customers only able to sign up for an email notification when inventory returns.
