Fisker is accelerating production of the Fisker Ocean electric SUV. The company has announced its plans to ramp up production to 300 units per day in Q4 2023, a significant increase from the current rate of approximately 180 units per day.
This increase in production should help get them closer to meeting their annual guidance, which originally started at between 32,000 and 36,000 vehicles, later being downgraded to 20,000 to 23,000 units at the end of Q2.
According for Fisker, as of the week of September 4, their manufacturing partner, Magna Steyr, has built a total of 3,123 customer vehicles, with just under 3,000 in the automaker’s possession. Deliveries have already begun in multiple markets, including the United States, where over 450 Fisker Oceans have been delivered or are in the process of being delivered, and the numbers are set to rise with more than 1,500 additional vehicles en route to the US.
Beyond the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Denmark, the company has recently announced plans to venture into Canada. Fisker had said Canadian deliveries of the Ocean One SUV could begin as early as September 7, when the company expected to complete homologation procedures with Transport Canada, however we have yet to hear that has taken place as hoped.
The Fisker Ocean One, the launch edition of the Fisker Ocean Extreme, features a 113 kWh battery pack and an EPA range of 360 miles (579km). It will come in four different variants in Canada, starting at C$43,999 for the base model, all the way up to C$89,999 for the top-of-the-line model.
