It looks like Ford isn’t able to keep production up to meet demand and is only providing customers with three Mustang Mach-E trim options in the United States.
Ford is only offering the Mustang Mach-E in the Premium, California Route 1 and GT.
The Mustang Mach-E Select, the base model of the Mustang Mach-E, is currently unavailable.
However, as per Ford Canada’s site, the Mustang Mach-E Select is still active and available on the site.
A Ford spokesperson had this to say about the limiting of trims in the order bank:
Since the order bank re-opened, customer demand for Mustang Mach-E has exceeded projections for some models. We have already increased production well above the original projections for Mustang Mach-E Select. We are pausing retail orders on the Select model to help manage supply constraints and provide more predictable order-to-delivery times for all of our customers. Customers with existing Select orders are unaffected by this model pause. (via Teslarati)
After a recent price increase, the Mach-E starts at $54,975 in the United States. While the electric SUV now starts at $56,995 in Canada.
The Mach-E is Ford’s most popular EV and moved 2,324 units in September, just beating out the Ford F-150 Lightning for the title.
Ford’s EV segment was the lone bright point in the automaker’s September sales figures. The Mach-E, Lightning, and E-Transit van accounted to 4,691 total sales, an increase of 197.3% compared to the same month last year.
Ford’s overall September sales figure was down 9%, dragged down by their always popular truck segment which dropped more than 18%.
