Elon Musk was set to hold an “ask me anything” (AMA) session with Twitter employees after becoming the company’s largest shareholder and revealing he would be taking a seat on the board of directors.
The meeting was supposed to take place next Monday, but after a sudden change and announcement that Musk would no longer be joining the board, the AMA session has been cancelled.
This now gives employees the day off, as Monday was scheduled to be a day of rest the company provides each month, reports Bloomberg.
The AMA session was first scheduled after employees at the company raised concerns about how Musk’s appointment to the board may change the company culture.
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal sought to temper those fears, but the sudden reversal and subsequent cancellation is strengthening rumours around Musk’s true intentions.
Now that he is not taking a seat on the board, Musk can purchase more than 14.9% of the company, something which he would otherwise not have been able to do.
