Tesla employee at Fremont factory dies while working on production line

A Tesla employee collapsed and died on Wednesday morning at the company’s factory in Fremont, California.

According to the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, or Cal/OSHA, the employee was working on the powertrain line at the time of the incident.

The Fremont Fire Department was called to the scene at 5:38am following a 911 call about a man possibly trapped in machinery.

Upon the first responders arriving at the scene realizing no machinery involved, additional calls for a rescue team were cancelled.

Paramedics were unable to revive the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been released, and officials are looking into the cause of death, according to a report by The Mercury News.

The death comes just one month after an employee was shot and killed by a colleague in the factory’s parking lot.

It is alleged that 29-year old Anthony Solima shot 42-year old Lee Braiser after the pair had an argument earlier in the day, after which Solima announced he was quitting.
