Tesla has announced through its Weibo account that the Supercharger network in China has now reached 8,000 stalls, and spans more than 360 cities across the country.
The milestone number comes just three months after the company reached 7,000 stalls in China in August.
The 8,000 stalls come from more 1,000 Supercharger stations. More than 100 of those are located in Shanghai.
Tesla’s speed at building out the network in China is almost as impressive at how quickly the company built Giga Shanghai.
The first Supercharger opened on April 23, 2014, the same day Tesla delivered the first Model S in China.
That rate of expansion should only increase in the future with the recent completion of a dedicated Supercharger factory in Shanghai.
The factory has a production capacity of 10,000 V3 Superchargers per year.
In its Weibo announcement this week, Tesla added that there are also more than 700 Destination Charging stations with over 1,750 connectors. (via Pandaily)
