Get Paid To Charge at Home: Compare EV Charging Rewards Program in Canada

EV charging rewards programs are becoming more common in Canada, giving drivers more ways to earn money from charging at home. But with new operators entering the market all the time, knowing which is the best program beyond simply the advertised rate can be difficult.

To help, we’ve launched a new EV charging rewards page that brings 20 programs together in one place.

The page compares programs that share Clean Fuel Regulations credit revenue with drivers. Each listing explains who runs the program, which hardware it supports, how and when you get paid, and how to sign up.

For Tesla owners, a dedicated filter makes it easier to find compatible options. WattsApp, RoadToEV and Roulez Électrique Club accept the Tesla Wall Connector, while most other programs require an OCPP-compatible charger. You can also filter the listings by province and charger type.

A built-in earnings estimator helps you compare potential annual payouts. It defaults to 3,500 kWh of home charging per year, but you can adjust that figure using a slider or enter your own usage. Estimates use each program’s highest advertised rate, so your actual earnings may be lower.

Before enrolling, there are a few details to check beyond the advertised rate. Many programs pay only once a year, and their payout schedules and exit terms vary.

One of the most important rules to understand before switching providers is that a charger can only be enrolled in one program per calendar year. If you’re already enrolled, signing up with another provider in the same year could disqualify your charger from both programs, leaving you without a payout.

If you plan to switch, you need to leave your current program before December 31 and join the new one on or after January 1. Check the operator’s exit terms in advance so you know what is required.

Visit our EV charging rewards page to compare the programs available where you live and see how much your home charging could earn.
