Tesla’s Supercharger network in Atlantic Canada is expanding once again, with the automaker’s first station in the Halifax now under construction.
The new Supercharger is being built at 215 Chain Lake Drive in Halifax’s Bayers Lake shopping district, in the parking lot near Staples. Photos of the construction site were shared by Chris Dwyer-Perkins in the EVAAC (Electric Vehicle Association of Atlantic Canada) Facebook group, with excavation work well underway and Tesla equipment visible on site.

The station will become Tesla’s first Supercharger within Halifax itself and represents a significant improvement for local Tesla owners. Until now, the nearest Supercharger has been located in Enfield, roughly 35 km north of downtown Halifax near Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
For many drivers in the Halifax Regional Municipality, the Enfield location has been convenient for highway travel but less practical for quick charging sessions within the city. A Supercharger in Bayers Lake will provide a much more accessible option for daily charging needs while also supporting travellers passing through the area.
This Supercharger is not a surprise however. Halifax was selected as a winner during Tesla’s Q2 2025 Supercharger Voting round, where Tesla owners and EV drivers vote on future charging locations they want added to the network.
Tesla has been steadily growing its Supercharger footprint across Nova Scotia over the past several years. Existing stations are currently located in Enfield, New Minas, Digby, and Yarmouth, while another site is complete and waiting to be energized in Truro.
