Tesla starts construction on second Supercharger station in South Surrey [British Columbia]

A second Tesla Supercharger has just started construction in South Surrey, British Columbia, even though we were not expecting the area to receive a new Supercharger based on Tesla’s list of upcoming locations.

The new Supercharger will be located in the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore at 2332 160 St. The site was discovered under construction this week by Drive Tesla reader Andrew Krygsveld, who shared these photos with us showing the groundwork has just begun on the west side of the parking lot near the BC Hydro DC fast chargers.

Since construction has only just started it is difficult to tell how many stalls will be built, but it appears as though it will likely be at least 12 stalls. That will add to the existing 12 stall V3 Supercharger just up Hwy 99 at the Southpoint Exchange Mall that opened last year.

There are currently two other Superchargers in the lower mainland that are waiting to be turned on in Delta and Langley. There are also two Superchargers under construction on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo and Port Alberni.
