North Vancouver Supercharger expansion underway, scheduled to open next week

Tesla opened a brand new Supercharger station in North Vancouver this summer. With the one of the highest rates of EV adoption in North America, most of those being Teslas, the 8-stall Supercharger was frequently at capacity, with owners having to line up and wait for a charge.

The congestion was apparently noticed by Tesla, and just five months after opening, the station is being expanded.

Four new V3 Supercharger stalls are being added on the north side of the London Drugs building adjacent to the existing Superchargers, bringing the total number of stalls to 12.

There are also two level 2 chargers being added, for a total of four level 2 chargers.

According to @Vancity_Tesla, who shared the photo with Drive Tesla, crews have made quick work on the expansion and the site is expected to go live next Wednesday.

There are two other Superchargers currently under construction in the lower mainland, both of them in Surrey.

A 12-stall Supercharger is being built under the Save-on-Foods at 104 Ave and 156 St in north Surrey, while another 12-stall station is being built in South Surrey at 152 St and Hwy 99.
