Starlink Reseller Program Goes Invite-Only as Demand Grows

SpaceX has temporarily halted new applications for its Starlink reseller program, highlighting just how quickly demand for the satellite internet service continues to grow around the world.

In an update posted to the Starlink reseller support page, the company confirmed it is no longer accepting new partners. I Although Starlink did not provide a reason for the change, interest in the reseller program appears to have surged alongside the company’s rapid subscriber growth.

“Starlink is no longer accepting applications to become an authorized reseller. The application process has been closed due to an overwhelming number of submissions. We will update this page if the program reopens for new applications in the future.”

The reseller program has become an increasingly important part of Starlink’s enterprise strategy. Authorized resellers help deploy and manage connections for businesses, governments, remote work sites, maritime operators, aviation customers, and rural communities that require more tailored support than standard residential users.

Demand has also surged as more industries adopt Starlink as either a primary internet connection or a backup solution. Airlines around the world continue rolling out Starlink-powered in-flight Wi-Fi, while cruise operators, mining companies, emergency response agencies, and transportation fleets are increasingly relying on the network’s low-latency satellite connectivity.

The rapid growth has created mounting pressure on SpaceX to scale infrastructure while maintaining service quality. Although the company continues to launch new satellites at an aggressive pace, network congestion has occasionally become an issue in high-demand regions, particularly in parts of North America.

Pausing reseller applications may help SpaceX better manage onboarding and support for existing partners while it continues expanding the constellation and ground infrastructure.

The decision to pause the reseller program comes as Starlink continues on its rapid subscriber growth trajectory. SpaceX has been expanding both residential and enterprise offerings, while also increasing network capacity through near-daily Falcon 9 launches carrying additional Starlink satellites into orbit.

Starlink crossed the 9 million subscriber milestone globally in December 2025. Just a few months earlier that count reached 7 million subscribers in August, followed by 8 million in November. The company has stated its goal of reaching 25 million subscribers by the end of this year.
