Volkswagen has announced pricing for its highly anticipated ID. Buzz electric van in Germany, ahead of the start of pre-sales on Friday, May 20.
The ID. Buzz Pro variant intended for the regular consumer starts at €64,581.30 (~$87,000 CAD/$67,000 USD), a hefty price that will be lowered by €7,500 thanks to the country’s EV incentive programs.
Then there is the ID. Buzz Cargo, a stripped down version of the EV that will start at €54,430 (~$73,200 CAD/$57,400 USD), which drops to €46,455 with local incentives.
Volkswagen says the first ID. Buzz EVs will be delivered to customers in Germany later this fall.
The ID. Buzz Pro comes equipped with the largest battery in the ID lineup of vehicles at 82kWh (77kWh usable), good enough for 421km (261 miles) of range on a full charge. The Cargo version is slightly higher at 424km (263 miles).
Pricing for other markets was not announced, but these give us some idea of what they will come in at when the ID. Buzz arrives in North America. However, there will be some differences as Canadian and US buyers will only get a long wheelbase configuration, compared to the short wheelbase in Europe.
The ID. Buzz was officially unveiled in March, after much speculation about what the final version of the electric van will look like. North American buyers will have to wait a little longer until the ID. Buzz arrives on this side of the pond, with deliveries only expected to begin in 2024.
