Tesla is expanding its Supercharger network into a relatively underserved part of Quebec, with a previously unannounced charging station now under construction in Montcerf-Lytton, north of Mont-Laurier.
The new Supercharger was spotted by a member of a Tesla Ottawa Facebook group. According to Jacquelin Delage, construction is already well underway at an Ultramar gas station located at 2 Route 117 in Montcerf-Lytton.
Based on the photo shared with the post, it appears the site will feature 8 V4 Supercharger posts.
Interestingly, the location has never appeared on Tesla’s official Find Us map, either as a proposed ‘in development’ location or as ‘under construction,’ making this a previously unknown addition to the company’s Canadian Supercharging network.
The site is also noteworthy because of its location along Route 117, a major highway connecting southern Quebec with communities farther north, including Val-d’Or and Rouyn-Noranda.
While Tesla has steadily expanded its Supercharger network across Quebec, drivers heading north beyond Mont-Laurier have had relatively few fast-charging options compared to those travelling along the province’s more heavily populated corridors.
The Montcerf-Lytton location will help address that gap, providing another charging option for Tesla owners travelling through the region.
Another Supercharger was previously planned farther north in La Vallée-de-l’Or, east of Val-d’Or. However, that site is still listed as ‘in development.’
