To succeed in taking over the automobile world, Tesla needs more hands, and the company has begun recruiting in Malaysia as it works toward an official presence in the country. Tesla is now advertising nine positions in Malaysia on its website.
Tesla was welcomed to Malaysia by the Minister of International Trade and Industry last month on Twitter. It is, therefore, not surprising when Malaysian vacancies popped up on Tesla’s website. The job titles cover five categories, including engineering, IT, operations, and sales. They are all located in Kuala Lumpur, a natural choice for a company establishing an official footprint in the country.
Tesla is expected to set up a country head office and experience and service centers. An official presence also makes Supercharging stations more likely since Tesla cars will soon be sold locally.
A conspicuous detail in Tesla’s FY2022 annual report was the mention of a subsidiary named Tesla Sdn. Bhd. The subsidiary was previously known as Tesla Services Sdn. Bhd., which didn’t sell EVs but functioned as the arm that handled the company’s EMEA and Asia Pacific regions’ accounting and finances.
It is the perfect time for Tesla to come to Malaysia, as the Ministry of International Trade and Industry recently approved it to import battery-electric vehicles into the Asian country.
