Tesla starts construction of Superchargers in Valleyview, Yorkton, and another in Mississauga [Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario]

Tesla’s Supercharger team in Canada is closing out the end of the year in full stride, starting construction on three new stations across the country over the past week. The new Superchargers are located in Valleyview (Alberta), Yorkton (Saskatchewan), and Mississauga (Ontario).

Valleyview Supercharger

The Valleyview Supercharger was first added to Tesla’s list of upcoming locations back in April, with a targeted opening date of Q4 2023. It looks like they might still be able to meet that target as construction on the new station began last week.

Drive Tesla reader Arsh shared these photos showing 6 stalls are under construction at the Paradise Inn hotel (3609 Highway Street). As of photos taken on Sunday all of the groundwork is complete and the site is now sitting idle waiting for the Supercharger equipment to arrive.

Yorkton Supercharger

Tesla owners in Saskatchewan have been waiting for the Yorkton Supercharger since 2022, and the good news is the wait will soon be over. According to our reader Regan Cobb, Tesla has just started construction of a 6 stall Supercharger in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire at the Parkland Mall (277 Broadway St E). The site will also feature 2 FLO DC fast chargers.

As you can see from the photos below construction is nearly complete with the charging posts already installed.

Mississauga Supercharger

Mississauga appears to be a major focal point for Tesla as there are now three Supercharger stations under construction in the city. The latest to start construction likely won’t match up to the 32 stall station waiting to be turned on at the Applewood Village Plaza, but what appears to be at least 12 stalls are under construction next to the Shell gas station at the corner of Ridgeway Dr and Dundas St W. Groundwork has only just begun, according to these photos shared with us by Angelo (@3Y6IX).

The other Supercharger waiting to be turned on in Mississauga is located in the parking lot of an Esso gas station at 5980 Hurontario St. Once all three are open that will bring the number of Superchargers within close proximity to the city to five, including the original Mississauga location at Meadowvale and the Etobicoke Supercharger at CF Sherway Gardens. Nearby Oakville is also set to get other Supercharger before the end of the year, while the Supercharger in Brampton to the north is complete and waiting to be turned on.
