Tesla has started construction on a new Supercharger station in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
Tesla first added Sherwood Park to its Find Us map in March 2026 as part of a wider expansion of its Canadian Supercharger network, placing a pin at the Sherwood Park Mall in east Edmonton.
The proposed site was recently updated from “In Development” to “Under Construction,” and a visit to the site by one of our readers Scotty confirms work is now underway. However, construction appears to be in the very early stages, with groundwork only just started, meaning it will likely be some time before the station is ready to welcome its first drivers.
The new Supercharger is being built in the parking lot near the mall’s main entrance in front of Urban Planet.
It is not yet clear how many stalls Tesla is installing at Sherwood Park Mall. According to Scotty, it was too early to tell, but based on the area fenced off for construction he guesses it will be no more than 8 stalls.
Tesla currently has three other Supercharger under construction in Alberta. One is on the other side of Edmonton in St. Albert. That site began construction in May, and should hopefully be energized soon.
Tesla is also currently building two Superchargers connecting drivers to the northern part of the province – one in Wandering River and another in Fort McMurray, which will also be Canada’s northernmost Supercharger when it finally opens.
