Tesla drivers in Alberta will soon have another charging option near Edmonton, as construction has officially begun on a new Supercharger station in St. Albert.
The upcoming station is being built at St. Albert Centre (375 St Albert Trl), with the chargers located on the north side of the shopping centre parking lot. According to photos shared by Chantelle in the Tesla Owners Club of Alberta Facebook page, the site is still in its early stages of construction with groundwork underway and conduit being placed underground.
The addition of a Supercharger in St. Albert should help improve charging accessibility for Tesla owners in the Edmonton region, particularly for drivers living in surrounding suburban communities. While Edmonton already has several Supercharger locations, continued growth in EV adoption across Alberta has increased demand for additional fast charging capacity.
The St. Albert Supercharger first appeared on Tesla’s Find Us map in May 2025, signalling the automaker’s intention to bring fast charging infrastructure to the growing community northwest of Edmonton. However, the location was later removed from the map in July 2025.
A few months later, the site reappeared on Tesla’s map in September 2025, renewing optimism that the project was back on track. Now, with construction underway, Tesla is finally moving ahead with the long-awaited installation.
According to Tesla’s Find Us map, there is one other Supercharger ‘in development’ near Edmonton in Sherwood Park.
