Last month we told you about a rumour Tesla could be relocating its Service Center in Ottawa to a new location 20 minutes away.
Drive Tesla can now confirm the automaker will be taking over the site of the former Myers Barrhaven Nissan dealership in neighbouring Nepean.
UPDATE: Tesla Nepean is now open. Click here to see photos and learn more.
Located at 530 Motor Works Avenue, the site actually has two large buildings on it. According to renovation plans obtained by Drive Tesla, the nearly 11,000 square foot building at the front will house the showroom. There will also be several offices, a customer lounge, and parts storage area.
The second 7,400 square foot building at the rear will be the new service area. With 10 vehicles lifts, Tesla owners near Ottawa should have no problem scheduling a service appointment.
According to the Myers Barrhaven Nissan website, the dealership has already moved out, directing customers to visit their location in Ottawa.
There is no word yet on when the automaker will officially open Tesla Nepean/Ottawa, but a spring date is likely. There will also likely be a short period with no Service Center in the region as the company shuts down the existing store in Ottawa to move into the new location.
This isn’t the only new Canadian Tesla Service Center opening soon. Edmonton is preparing to welcome the second location in Alberta, and Saskatoon’s new store should be opening any day now. Other locations coming soon include Victoria, Surrey, Winnipeg, London, Innsifil, and Halifax.
