Tesla opening new Sales and Service Center in Nepean, Ontario: Rumour

If the latest news that Tesla is opening a new Sales, Service & Delivery Center in Edmonton wasn’t enough, it looks like the same may soon happen in Nepean, Ontario.

UPDATE: Tesla Nepean is now open. Click here to see photos and learn more.

Although Tesla already has a retail location in Ottawa at 845 Carling Avenue, the property is leased and not directly owned by Tesla. Given its prime location in the Ottawa area and being directly adjacent to the Carling O-Train light rail transit station, the property will be demolished and redeveloped into two residential high-rise buildings in the near future.

Even though there is still no official timeline on the redevelopment, it appears as though Tesla may be making a pre-emptive move to a new location less than 20 minutes away.

According to user CanadaGoose on the TMC forums, Tesla may soon be taking over the Myers Barrhaven Nissan dealership in neighbouring Nepean.

Much like the situation in Edmonton, the dealership’s website says the showroom has already closed, and only the service and parts department remains open until December 18th.

Nissan’s move out of the location is a bit of a surprise as opened just two years ago in June 2018. As you can see from the notification on the dealership’s website above, they will actually be suspending operations for more than a year until a new building is constructed.

If the rumour is true, it wouldn’t be Tesla’s first presence in Nepean. In October the Nepean Supercharger opened in the Canadian Tire parking lot at Bells Corners at 2135 Robertson Road.
