Tesla has partially opened its new 50,000 square foot Markham Service Center this week. While the facility is not yet fully operational, the company has started accepting service appointments, marking the first phase of its long-awaited launch.
The site, located at 770 Markland Street near Highway 404, has been largely complete since February. However, despite the building and surrounding infrastructure appearing ready for full use, Tesla has not been able to open the facility due to ongoing permit delays.
That changed this week, at least partially. As of this week customers can now book service visits at the new location, helping to ease pressure on existing Service Centers across the Greater Toronto Area.
While service operations are now underway, the showroom and delivery areas will have to wait a little longer. Sources familiar with the project indicate the delay is tied to final permitting approvals.
There is no confirmed timeline yet for when the showroom and delivery center will officially open.
The Markham location was first announced in 2024 as a major expansion project for Tesla in Ontario. Spanning more than 50,000 square feet on a 5.4-acre lot, the site is designed to function as a full Sales, Service, and Delivery Center. In addition to the main building, the property includes extensive parking space intended for both customer vehicles and delivery inventory.
