Tesla has lowered its price of entry in Hong Kong and Macau, introducing the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) in both countries. These are the same pared-down vehicles, originally called the Model 3 Standard, that have been available in other markets around the world for nearly a year.
According to Tesla’s online configurator, the new Model 3 Standard starts at HK$205,000 in Hong Kong (~C$36,000/US$26,000), while buyers in Macau will pay MOP252,000 (~C$43,300/US$31,200).
In Hong Kong, that lowers the starting price of a Model 3 by about 8.5% compared to the previous entry-level version.

The Model 3 RWD offers up to 572 km of WLTP-rated range when equipped with its standard 18-inch Prismata wheels. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 201 km/h.
Charging performance has also been reduced compared to Tesla’s more expensive Model 3 variants, with the Standard topping out at 175 kW at a Supercharger instead of 250 kW.
Inside, Tesla has simplified several features. The Standard gets fabric seats, although front seat heating remains, along with a seven-speaker audio system. Buyers are also limited to an all-black interior, while Stealth Grey is the only no-cost exterior colour.
