The Cybercab has only been carrying passengers in Austin for less than a week, but Elon Musk is already hinting at bringing the purpose-built robotaxi to a new country.
Musk dropped the hint on X, responding to a German Tesla owner who recently took a Cybercab ride in Austin and said he hoped the same experience wouldn’t take years to reach Germany.
“Hopefully soon in Europe too,” Musk replied.
While that’s not a launch announcement, it is another hint from Musk that Tesla wants to eventually operate Cybercab as a robotaxi service in Europe.

Regulation Remains The Biggest Hurdle
If gaining approval FSD has been any indication, getting there won’t be easy. Tesla is still working to secure broader approval for FSD across Europe, with the technology currently recognized in six countries – most recently in Slovenia over the weekend. An EU-wide vote is expected on October 6.
The Cybercab however would be another regulatory leap entirely. Unlike the U.S., Europe does not allow automakers to self-certify vehicles. Instead, vehicles must undergo testing before receiving approval from the appropriate authorities.
Musk acknowledged those challenges earlier this year, saying Tesla was “probably jumping the gun” by discussing Robotaxi in Europe while FSD (Supervised) was still going through the approval process.
“I actually don’t know what the time frame for that is, and would be somewhat at the mercy of the regulators,” Musk said in April.
There is also the question of where European Cybercabs would come from. Musk previously said Cybercab was “most likely” the next major vehicle to be built at Giga Berlin, although Tesla has yet to formally confirm production plans.
