Tesla Canada gets new country manager nearly a year after departure of longtime leader

Nearly a year after losing its longtime Canadian sales and delivery leader, Tesla has appointed a new executive to oversee its operations north of the border.

Michelle Veenhuizen has been promoted to Country Manager for Canada, Sales & Delivery, taking responsibility for Tesla’s sales and delivery operations across the country. The promotion for Veenhuizen comes after spending the last year and a half overseeing sales in Central Canada.

Veenhuizen announced the promotion on LinkedIn, saying she was “excited” to take on the new position.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the trust, support, and opportunities that have brought me to this milestone,” Veenhuizen wrote. “I’m looking forward to leading an exceptional team, driving innovation, and continuing Tesla’s mission to build a world of amazing abundance.”

Rapid Rise After Two Years at Tesla

Veenhuizen only joined Tesla in November 2024 as Regional Sales Manager for Central Canada, with her position based in Ontario. According to her LinkedIn profile, she remained in that role for nearly two years before being promoted to Country Manager last month.

With the promotion, Veenhuizen takes over a role previously held by Fereshteh Zeineddin for over nine years, whose departure from Tesla we first reported last year.

Even after Zeineddin’s departure, the former Tesla executive was among those congratulating Veenhuizen on her promotion.

“Huge congratulations Michelle Veenhuizen! So incredibly well deserved,” Zeineddin wrote. “Super proud of you and can’t wait to see the impact of your leadership across the country.”

Extensive Retail Leadership Experience

Before joining Tesla, Veenhuizen spent nearly six years with Australian fashion retailer Forever New Clothing, steadily moving through its Canadian organization.

Her final position with the company was Head of Retail – Canada, a role she held from January until November 2024, when she left to join Tesla.
