Tesla brings back Enhanced Autopilot in Europe [Update]

Just when you think you might never see Tesla offer Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) again, the automaker has added it back to the Design Studio in Europe.

The feature was offered until early 2019 when Autopilot became standard on all vehicles. The suite of features was renamed to Full Self-Driving (FSD) at the same time.

EAP closely resembled the current FSD offering, with the exception of Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control (TLSCC) which was added several months later.

Its most recent return from the dead was in September last year when Tesla brought it back for 12 days, but only as an optional upgrade for existing owners.

Now Tesla has made it available again in Europe (h/t @tesla_adri). Except this time it can be added at the time of purchase from the Design Studio, indicating it might be sticking around for a while.

UPDATE: It has also been added in China.

It can also be purchased after delivery through your Tesla account.

Enhanced Autopilot Europe

Priced at £3,400 in the United Kingdom, it is exactly half the price of the FSD option at £6,800. While it may sound like a good deal, the EAP option will not be getting the future update coming to FSD, “automatic driving on city streets.”

The change appears so far to be limited to countries in Europe, as it has not been added to the Design Studio for Canada and the US.
