Rivian has reached a major milestone for its Rivian Adventure Network (RAN), surpassing 1,000 DC fast charging stalls across the United States. However, despite originally promising expansion north of the border, the electric vehicle maker still has no fast-charging stations operating in Canada.
According to data from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC), Rivian’s Adventure Network now includes more than 1,000 individual fast charging stalls spread across 148 locations in the United States. Independent tracking sites suggest the total may already be slightly higher, with more than 1,015 stalls deployed across 149 sites.
The achievement represents substantial growth for Rivian’s charging ambitions. Just one year ago, the network consisted of a little more than 700 stalls, meaning the company has expanded its footprint by roughly 40% over the last 12 months. Four new locations featuring 44 charging stalls were added in the past month alone, reports InsideEVs.
Originally unveiled in 2021, the Adventure Network was designed to mirror some of the advantages of Tesla’s Supercharger network by offering a seamless charging experience integrated directly into Rivian vehicles. Owners can view charger availability in real time through the Rivian mobile app or their vehicle’s navigation system.
Rivian says reliability remains one of the network’s strongest selling points.
“By owning the hardware, software, and localized maintenance, we’ve maintained a 98% uptime across the network in 2025 and continue the push for reliability in 2026 and beyond.”
The network has also become significantly more accessible. While Rivian initially restricted Adventure Network chargers exclusively to R1T and R1S owners, the vast majority of sites are now open to all compatible EVs, with tap-to-pay functionality allowing drivers to charge without downloading an app.
As part of the industry’s transition to Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), Rivian continues to add NACS connectors throughout its network. Approximately 166 charging stalls at around 50 locations now feature NACS plugs, while six sites operate exclusively with NACS hardware. Rivian’s newer vehicles, including the R2, now feature native NACS charging ports.
What About Canada?
Despite the progress, one notable gap remains, and it is a big one – Canada.
When Rivian first announced the Adventure Network, the company outlined plans for more than 3,500 DC fast chargers at over 600 locations across the United States and Canada by the end of 2023. Nearly three years after that target date, Rivian has surpassed the 1,000-stall mark in the U.S. but has yet to open a single Adventure Network fast charging location in Canada.
