New Tesla Supercharger nearing completion in Merritt [British Columbia]

Recently discovered by a TMC member, Merritt’s second Tesla Supercharger station is nearing completion at the Husky station at 3999 Airport Rd. There will be 8 V3 stalls which can charge almost twice as fast as the V2 stalls right across the street.

Oddly, no one seems to have noticed the construction, despite the new Supercharger being located only 200 metres from the current location.

This is an essential second location for the BC corridor. Merritt is located at a crossroads between Hope, and Kelowna and Kamloops. The current location had long lineups dating back to last year. Last August, in a reply to a tweet by Natal Cicuto, Elon Musk stated that the team was “working on [adding more locations in BC]”.

Looks like he finally came through on his promise for Merritt.

The station looks like it could be open by the end of the month. Currently there are several Superchargers fully installed but not active in BC. Most recently the North Vancouver and Coquitlam Superchargers opened in the lower mainland.
