Lucid Gravity Orders Open November 7, priced from US$79,900

Lucid has announced its next electric vehicle (EV), the Gravity SUV will officially launch next week with pre-orders opening November 7, 2024, at 9:00am PT.

Initially, orders will be available for the Gravity Grand Touring model, priced at US$94,900. This model will enter production in late 2024, while a more affordable Touring trim, priced from US$79,900, will follow in late 2025.

For Canadians hoping to purchase a Gravity SUV, Lucid has not yet announced pricing or availability. The company has indicated that details specific to Canadian and other global markets will be provided at a later date.

While pre-orders will initially be open only to US customers, current Lucid owners will receive priority for deliveries. Through an online configurator, customers will be able to personalize their Gravity SUVs, selecting from available trims, features, and colour options.

“There is a growing anticipation for Lucid Gravity’s unprecedented combination of versatility, performance, design, and all-around capability. This is uniquely enabled through our revolutionary technology. We look forward to bringing the world’s most advanced SUV to the world soon,” said CEO Peter Rawlinson.

The Gravity Grand Touring trim comes with over 800 horsepower and an anticipated range exceeding 440 miles (708km) on a full charge. The Gravity also comes with a 900-volt architecture, the same as its sibling, the Lucid Air sedan.

The Gravity’s release represents a significant milestone for Lucid, which is expanding its lineup for the first time following the launch of the Air sedan in October 2021. Lucid recently announced a share sale, which is expected to generate over $1.6 billion for the automaker, providing enough cash for the company to continue operations in 2026.

This is the second piece of news from Lucid this week, with the Air sedan earning a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Monday.
