Lucid is expanding its mobile service strategy, taking the program to the next level with new hardware and greater capability. The company has introduced a new Mobile Service Platform built around the Gravity SUV.

The Gravity has been reconfigured into a high-capacity mobile service unit. Compared to Lucid’s existing fleet using Air sedans, the updated setup significantly increases both capability and efficiency.

According to the company, the Gravity will allow technicians to “complete more work on-site with greater efficiency” while delivering a “seamless, high-touch service experience.”

The vehicles are equipped with a full suite of onboard tools, including battery-powered equipment, an air compressor, jack systems, and integrated safety gear, allowing technicians to handle a wider range of repairs without needing a traditional service bay.

One of the biggest upgrades comes down to storage. Lucid says the new platform offers more than double the capacity of its current Air service vehicles, enabling technicians to carry more parts and tools. By expanding onboard inventory, Lucid is aiming to improve first-visit completion rates and eliminate unnecessary follow-up appointments.

To further streamline the process, the company has introduced a new sliding storage system that provides quick and organized access to tools and equipment. While it may sound like a minor detail, reducing time spent searching for tools can add up across multiple service visits in a day, ultimately improving turnaround times for customers.

Lucid’s expanded mobile service strategy highlights one of the biggest advantages of modern EV ownership—convenience. By bringing repairs and maintenance directly to customers, owners can avoid the hassle of scheduling appointments, traveling to service centers, and being without their vehicle for extended periods.

This isn’t a brand-new concept for Lucid. The company has offered mobile service since its early days, using it as a way to support customers in markets where its physical footprint was still growing. What’s changed now is the scale and capability. By integrating the new platform into the Gravity SUV, Lucid is significantly expanding what its technicians can accomplish on-site, turning what was once a convenience feature into a core part of its service strategy.
