Kia has officially announced Canadian pricing for its first purpose-built electric commercial vehicle, the 2027 PV5 Cargo.
According to Kia Canada, the PV5 will start at $46,995 for the Basic trim, while the Plus model will begin at $49,095. Kia says both versions have been priced to qualify for up to $5,000 under Canada’s Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) for businesses looking to electrify their fleets.
The dedicated cargo van is expected to arrive in Canadian dealerships during the fourth quarter of 2026.
Built on Kia’s new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) architecture, the PV5 is designed for commercial use rather than being adapted from a passenger vehicle. It features a 71.2 kWh battery, an estimated driving range of 360 km (224 miles), and comes standard with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port, giving drivers access to Tesla’s Supercharger network without the need for an adapter.
Kia says the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes under ideal DC fast charging conditions.
The two-seat cargo van also offers practical specifications aimed at fleet operators, including 5,016 litres of cargo space, a 1,631-pound payload capacity, and a low 419 mm step-in height to make loading and unloading easier throughout the day. A heat pump is also included as standard equipment to help maintain efficiency during colder Canadian winters.
The entry-level PV5 Basic comes equipped with a number of driver assistance features, including Blind Spot Collision Avoidance, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Assist, Highway Driving Assist, and front and rear parking sensors.
Inside, drivers get a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.9-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Kia Connect and over-the-air (OTA) software update capability.
Stepping up to the Plus trim adds features including a surround-view camera system, blind spot view monitor, wireless phone charging, heated front seats and steering wheel, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality that can power tools and other equipment directly from the van.
Kia says additional specifications and configuration details will be released closer to the PV5’s Canadian launch later this year.
