Hyundai unveils the highly anticipated IONIQ 9 electric SUV

Hyundai has officially unveiled its latest electric SUV, the IONIQ 9. The highly anticipated IONIQ 9 will feature a three-row set-up that blends space, design, and advanced EV technology.

President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company had this to say at the IONIQ 9 launch event at Goldstein House in Los Angeles:

IONIQ 9 embodies Hyundai Motor’s unwavering commitment and confidence in electrification. Based on Hyundai Motor Group’s acclaimed Electric-Global Modular Platform, IONIQ 9 offers outstanding interior space, providing customers unique value while solidifying our leadership in the global EV market.

Regarding specs, the vehicle could be a powerful option for those looking for additional storage space while not sacrificing range. According to Hyundai, the IONIQ 9 will come with a WLTP estimated range of up to 625km or 320 miles.

The IONIQ 9 will come in three trims: the RWD, Long Range AWD, and Performance AWD.

In addition to the physical specifications, the vehicle will also include features such as:

  • Hyundai AI Assistant
  • V2L charging
  • Bluelink Connected Car Services
  • Features on Demand, a new service that allows owners to further personalize features on the IONIQ 9 with digital upgrade purchased from the Hyundai online store
  • Over-the-air updates

The IONIQ 9 will make its first appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which kicks off this Friday, November 22. Hyundai confirmed that the IONIQ 9 will go on sale in South Korea and the United States in the first half of 2025. However, it is unclear when the vehicle will be available for those in other markets, including Canada. Pricing has also not been announced.
