Hankook launching a new family of EV tires

Hankook Tires are launching the iON family of tires specifically designed for use on high performance, premium electric vehicles.

The new tires will include further reduced rolling resistance, lower rolling-noise characteristics and high resilience.

The new tires will also be able to handle the high torque that comes with a powerful EV.

This new family of tires feature natural resin to increase durability.

In addition, the company is using a high proportion of natural oils to make the tire construction more sustainable and improve the tires’ mileage.

As of May 2022, the Hankook Ventus iOS S summer tire will be available in Europe. This tire will come in both an 18 and 22-inch variety.

Then, in September 2022, the winter Hankook Winter i*cept iON will also come to Europe.

The Hankook Ventus iON A tire is coming to the North American market and will be an all-season version.

The company will release further tire designs down the road.

Hankook is one of the leading tire manufacturers in this space.

As well, the company is now the official supplier of tires in the world of electric motorsport with a supply contract with the Federation International Automobile.

Hankook did not confirm when the specific winter or summer tires arrive in North America.
